What's for lots of safe sex, that makes it worth lots of time, and worth many repetitions? Shouldn't we have a DRY life?

Why not talk about it? Who cares if some trolls get annoyed? Just disregard them.

Who cares if things have a "medical" use or not? Heroin and alcohol both have human uses for which people want them.

That's not true at all, they could very easily use something harmful for centuries and not figure it out. That's what science is for: without it, it's extraordinarily easy to fool yourself, or not notice things.

It seems blatantly obvious that rms has a positive opinion of kratom, but that he's selling it in the style of "use at your own risk and discretion". There's nothing dishonest about that.

There is no fraud involved in selling Kratom, nor any force. rms is not making misleading medical claims, he's been clear it hasn't passed rigorous scientific standards.

I don't think there's anything wrong with selling Kratom, as long as you make it clear that it hasn't gone through clinical trials, has known side effects, etc... And you do seem to be very conscientious about pointing those things out. So

Ugh, users will run into problems and have no idea why. If comcast wants to manage its network they should at least have a public policy for how they do that. Oh well, maybe people will start encrypting more of their traffic.

This story has a bunch of comments, including one with 4 points, but only has 2 points itself. I think it's actually common to comment on a story and not upvote it. I know I do that often. One reason is people often comments on stories they

So, as you point out, the strategy would work better if you don't downvote anything to zero. And don't downvote very many things.

Oh this reminds me, there is a similar incentive to upvote stories you commented on so more people see the story and potentially join in the comments discussion.

I was responding to the personal question. You're right that sorting by time would change that incentive, and that it'd be a useful option sometimes.

It isn't good to design systems with bad incentives, whether people follow them or not.

He hasn't understood what a startup means. If he did, $135 would seem very tiny compared to the huge amount of work he was planning to do. He's not planning to do that work. Yet. Don't dump him immediately. People are complicated, and somet

There are two varieties of bohm interpretation: one says that there are "hidden variables". what this means is all particles store information, from the start of existence, about all other particles they will ever have anything to do with.

You're right that I should be careful with what I call ridiculous. I am. (Will now explain more details in response to the other guy's comment where he proposes bohm and grw theories as non-ridiculous)

I don't really care what views are popular, (though MWI is popular among top experts to whom it matters), I care which views are true. So what matters to me is which proponents say things that make sense and give good explanations and arg

In Wave Collapse/Many Worlds, a parallel universe is created in which wave collapse occured but gave a different outcome. That is incorrect. Many Worlds does not say universes are created all the time, it says they already exist and becom
