Original windows are likely the biggest offender. You could just replace the largest windows if budget is a concern or place plastic over the inside portion to create an “insulative” air barrier between the plastic sheet and the window. The

Most people have commute times within that span. For me and I believe most people, the supposed benefits of the office are far outweighed by the advantages of avoiding a commute and having a quiet place to get work done. Granted that onboar

That’ll change when there are more homes priced sub $150k and lenders are desperate for borrowers due to a slowdown in mortgage applications. Also, being able to buy a house you cannot afford may go away as well if lending parameters become

You are willing to give up 1-2 hours of your personal time a workday (avoided commuting time) to gain the supposed efficiencies of working in an office? I find it hard to believe many people are willing to make that sacrifice anymore when t

Refinancing is not free. There are still costs for any loan like appraisal, possibly an inspection, and recording fees, but some lenders will roll those costs into the loan or offer higher interest rates to offset their costs. Nonetheless,

High range housing will likely be the hardest hit. I would expect low to mid price housing to be a bit more resilient due to buyers and lenders being more conservative.

Personally I find active voice to be more repetitive as it tends toward a similar sentence structure of subject-verb and can also imply certainty in situations that are more nuanced. However, active voice and simple sentence structure shoul

Why not just skip the article and definitely not comment on it? Hypocrisy displayed by a any major figure should be called out for accountability reasons at the least. While it is true that this discussion has been hashed out many times, it

“It’s [a credit card] a way to pay for things that’s a loan, but it doesn’t have to be a loan if you pay it back on time but it can be a loan if you need money in an emergency.” This seems overly pedantic. It’s still a loan regardless of wh

Agree on the healthcare solution. Disagree on the popular opinion on HN that housing is a shortage issue due to zoning rules. Perhaps this is the case in pockets of certain cities like SF, but this is not a problem in the majority of areas.
