The security issues are very worrisome. They're the type of mistakes where it looks like there's no process or culture in place. Not a good thing for a cloud provider.

Really? Looks like someone's blog on technical things that they're interested in and there's an 'About' link right where you'd expect that tell you who they are.

The fine was 109M. Not sure why you felt the need to clarify that the settlement happened after the 5B was paid when the 5B was conditional on Zuckerberg / Sandberg not being liable in the settlement. The question is what did these peo

It's not the amount. It's the ratio. They overpaid by over 47 times. A company filled with world class lawyers and business executives, as well as an experienced board does that? Why?

Depends on your architecture. You're still restricted by physics with edge computing. If you need to make a call back into us-east-1 to get data out of a data store, it doesn't matter that there's an edge CDN and API layer. O

Must be extraordinary to hop to New York City for a month, then fly to SFO as a young person, with not a (mentioned) care in the world about running out of money. With the above context, I think we can agree the risks for this person is low

I'm not discounting their experiences. I just can't explain it, both anecdotally and terms of Amazon's business performance and perceived image. If this is widespread we should see it show up elsewhere vs. only here (for me),

Exactly. When I see these threads I'm always lost. What Amazon are these people running into? If you're in the US, this isn't a common experience from my circle of friends / family. I only order things from Amazon. I go

There was no talking or discussion. It was one person being mean spirited and childish for their own amusement at the expense of others. At some point in this thread you defend it as some sort of American cultural thing -- it's not. It

Isn’t there a Rob Pike quote for these? "Who cares? Shut up" It’s in the context of concerns from newer developers who don’t focus on what’s important. This is the same blog that gave us code smells, abstract more to hide it ( htt
