I commented on this genuinely thinking the article was interesting, enough so that I was curious about the company behind it. It seems the founder is very good at "growth hacking", the majority of their stars on GitHub appear fake

I know this problem space well. A company I worked for over 10 years ago had a data feed from National Australia Bank (NAB) and matching, categorising and geolocating transactions was an almost daily chore. I would hope by now they're

Have you tried viewing your iCloud keychain on macOS? I'm not sure if it's inclusive of entries made from iPhone-only apps, but there's definitely an option to view entries synced to iCloud for other things.

Zed is great. I'd happily pay for it. I purchased Panic's Nova editor when it was first released. I'd be willing to pay Zed an equivalent ~79 per year for a perpetual license (with updates after the first year requiring furth

Interesting take. I'm a programmer, but learned Photoshop in the early 2000s and had a blast making and editing images for fun. Sure, the generative models today can do a far better job than anything I could come up with, but that does

That hit home for me too. My DIY cupboard is full of quality buy-it-for-life tools and accessories that I've used only a handful of times (or sometimes not at all).

Is it that interesting that I found the comment unnecessarily judgemental and makes a shallow unsubstantiated assumption about the author's demographic/personality?

Clicking on "Read the documentation" leads to a page that documents nothing about the latest Imagen models and only provides examples using Gemini 2.0 Flash.

I empathise with the advice, even aspire to it. Despite that, I abhor a bully getting away with being a bully and would feel discontent not putting up a fight on principle.

This is perfect ! Every time my wife and I fold our fitted sheets after a wash, after we've fumbled our way with folding it, I say "one day I'll lookup how to do this properly." Imagine my elation upon seeing this on H

As a lightweight solution (no web UI), there's Charm's Soft Serve[1]. Their product byline: "A tasty, self-hostable Git server for the command line." [1] https://github.com/charmbracelet/soft-serve

I know your comparison to PowerPoint was probably not meant to be taken literally, but I'll just add that a good presentation takes just as much time, skill and effort as any creative endeavour (including programming).

Oh my god yes, it's absolutely infuriating. I chastise myself every time I accidentally click Continue, because it means I have to suffer through another Safari→ App Store →Safari→ App Store loop..

Huh, that's a neat trick. Your comment is the first I'm learning of HTTPS RR records... so I won't pass judgement on whether an AI should've known enough to suggest it.

Genuine question, what happens to any commercial aircraft in the vicinity of such a detonation? Are they at a high enough altitude to avoid the EMP blast or can we expect them to lose all electronics?

Not to detract from the author's efforts, but Transmit[1] has a feature that lets you synchronise two folders (as well as being a great all-round SFTP/remote file browser). [1] https://help.panic.com/transmit/
