Technology seems to be made for more technically inclined subjects before being brought to other areas. For example, when I was an undergrad, math and CS subjects had great coverage on the internet (great wikipedia articles, downloadable pd

Thanks for the feedback Bostwick, Is there a specific part of the design you would like to see improved? Yeah, I'm planning on announcing over on other forums too :)

It's an community news site with some features borrowed from HN and StackOverflow. These are two sites I value for their high quality discussion, which I aim on bringing to the climbing community. It runs on appengine and tornado: https:/

When I'm googling for a programming question, I value stackoverflow answers over other blogs and forums. I may find the same information at different sites, but stackoverflow is usually very concise and up to date.

The build process reminded me of Ikea furniture, where many components are pre-fabricated offsite. Can anyone comment on if this is the norm for large buildings?

This is true, but ironically Chrome's dev tools take up more vertical space than Firebug. I'm happy I've made the switch, though it would be nice if Chrome/webkit traded some flashy icons for a more space efficient table especially in the "

You'd be surprised at how ergonomic laptops are. I find my macbook touch-pad to be much easier on the wrists than a mouse, and the display angle adjusts to a perfect viewing position. The real benefit is that I get to sit in the most comfo

Exactly this. One thing I've learned from launching projects is that customers don't just come to you. Marketing is a huge factor in getting any traction.

"The battery life, while not terrible, isn’t as good as a 13” or 15” MacBook Pro." Actually, the battery life is measured using a more real world benchmark now. Jobs mentioned it has improved quite a bit compared to the macbook pro.

Not true. There is a trade off between speed and economy when doing an early rush. The attacking player will always have less attacking units than the defensive player due to the travel distance between bases. (Assuming the defensive play

The biggest benefit of open sourcing DDG in your case is that it would be useful as research to programmers who are developing something similar (e.g. a search engine, wikipedia parsing, crawlers). You might also think of extracting some co

I'd have to agree that Django on appengine is a big pita for the reasons you mentioned. Django is a large framework, and was simply not designed with interchangeable backends in mind. Getting it to work either requires a lot of black magic
