My previous MacBook worked 8 years - needed a battery replacement and an upgrade to a SSD. Granted it was a sluggish last year using it. My current MacBook has lasted me 3 years already and unless something drastic happens I can see it las

Why wouldn't you just make it via a separate password... simply force your device into password unlock mode (no faceID/touchID). enter the duress password.

Here in Australia its pretty much 100% chip and PIN or contactless payments (paypass). Has been for a number of years now. I don't think anyone swipes cards unless there is something wrong with the payment terminal. Even vending machin

The big thing about TouchID and FaceID is that they are great ways of enforcing a higher level of security than nothing... Prior to these technologies many people I knew did not bother having PINs or were using 1234 because remembering a co

ahhh, haha ok I see! yeah it isn't awesome that we feel we need these security features. However I think even without the fear of government (etc...) this is still a great feature I would love to have.

Oh? I might have misunderstood your post. I thought you were suggesting a way that meant phone backups all appear the same size as the disk 100% of the time. (meaning the true volume of content is hidden) Then the second point is the user c

Thanks for posting this, it's a good read so far. I have been using JSX quite a bit and this is helping me get a better understanding.

I feel Autumn and Spring are the best times to visit Sydney. During the Summer you could travel around the southern parts (Tasmania and SA). In the winter months you can spend time in Cairns (anywhere up north really) and its beautiful. You

That was a really interesting read and watch, both high tech and low tech hacks. Given that these guns mean life/death for people I hope this find is enough to take them off the market. So many chances for failure given all these holes

You can kind of do this with incognito mode. It would be a bit frustrating because once you close the tabs everything is lost. However I am not sure how different browsers "incognito mode" handle multiple tabs. I do like your idea

I originally moved to Apple because they had amazing products which were leap years ahead of the competition in terms of build quality and features. These days I feel that they have fallen behind in this space, perfect examples would be the

This is something I have wished banks would one day provide! Aussie banks might one day catch on. Love to read a write up in 6 months from someone who has played around and got this working. See how useful it really is.

How awesome is the expo example on http://dev.apollodata.com/ ... I just tried it on my iPhone. Freaking amazing how well it works. Mobile app development has come leaps and bounds from where it was a year ago.
