I thought that for a bit until I realised tail is a bit ambiguous as it's used in the Unix space to mean the "last n" items and in some data structures as the last item pointer.

You've obviously never heard of yacc and lex then or bison?

Still prefer first and rest . At least that has meaning outside the first use of car and cdr.

Enforcing unique and strong passwords is not hard. We do it.

I run my web, email and some other stuff off a cheap end DO droplet for $5/month. Can't say I've had any problems other than availability of droplets in Amsterdam. I'm in the UK but have a VM in NY2. To be fair the laten

There are no decent ones. I've tried them all now. Moved to DO and have had no problems so far. TBH ALL the VPS providers are better than colo/cage suppliers from my experience who even at the high end are shit.

Not a thing. No ads at all anywhere. I'm in the UK though so it might be different and this unit is 3 years old now.

From here: http://stricture-group.com/files/adobe-top100.txt We wrote a script that hashed these passwords with the stored salt for each user and compared the result with the stored hashed value. Basically we brute for

This. Visual Studio to be blunt is a fucking nightmare in this department. It's cost us hours fixing configuration problems. We have 50 developers though so are a large team.

Coming from the company who set their SAN switch support passwords to "badgers" by default... To be fair I didn't know they actually had a research department.

I'd have taken it back. My Bravia EX has no adverts but I don't entirely trust it.

I doubt that would happen if they did. Not only that, the whole ward system is clearly biased towards morons who are easy to sway towards the party rather than a fair representation country-wide. There is no excuse. Stick to the manifesto o

Perhaps similarly, the EasyList tracking protection list for IE browsers stops you from signing up for a Windows Azure account.

Very likely. We've just added a kill-list of known decrypted passwords and English language words and forced people to reset their passwords who are listed in the adobe breach.

Actually perhaps the most annoying thing I can see is that after paying a fuck-load for the television, they dare to show me adverts on the guide! LG is instantly on my shitlist for this and the channel and media data leaks.

That scares me. I'm going to fire up wireshark on my Sony Bravia tonight and see what that sends off as well.

Well everyone's well aware of the promises they broke so there's no point in hiding it or it'll make them look even worse (if that is possible).

They are powered by that here. The inevitable chain will be either the battery will go flat in minutes or there will be brown outs which are inevitable if you have LEDs and non MSP430 grade CPUs hanging off it. The result of this will be in

Thanks for posting this. I've always wondered what the numbers were. 4096 bits does appear to add a significant work factor.

Actually that's a pretty large misinterpretation of what I said. Conclusively: People should still do this, but stop turning it into a cultural movement in which everything unremarkable is remarkable and knowledge is abstracted away

Stick some steel wool across a 9v battery and you'll get what I mean. It's the current, not the voltage. Video for you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWuJokR_mI8

I'd worry more about the power carrying capacity of the proposed conductors especially during partial failures. Someone is going to set fire to their clothes one day and it isn't going to be pretty.

Nope. Just not a fan of adding piles of abstraction on top of something that just crawls already. To be honest I'd use a different language/platform if you need to use patterns like that where they perform (java/c#). Bit of a
