This is great. Too often we only get the original researchers' interpretation of the data and not much else. Good luck with it!

Looks somewhat similar to IFTTT. Can you comment on what makes your service different/better and the demographic it's geared toward? It says 'no programming required', but the blog makes me thing otherwise. I like the idea, though (even if

I'm thinking this is a one-stop-shop for public datasets? Maybe for when you're reading an article on something like 'gun violence in urban areas', but want to see stats from multiple studies on the topic. That's my best guess and I can se

I've only ever owned 2 smart phones - both android, both on tmobile, and both unsubsidized. Those phones are 1) the Nexus One and 2) the Nexus 4. Cyanogenmod let the N1 remain relevant for nearly 3 years. The N4 has 4x the cores (each cloc

This is mostly obvious. I documented the hell out of my Google Voice app for dumb phones https://code.google.com/p/gv4me/ , but no one else ever contributed to it. That's the only project I've built that I've ever had much luck with peopl

This is very true. If there are only a handful of people in a small town who have your interest, you're kinda out of luck with meetup.

There's definitely a need for this. I've been working on something very similar due to the situation I talk about here http://socialocale.wordpress.com/2013/04/18/why-we-built-the... Let me know if you want to collaborate. I'd really like

I've been working on http://www.socialocale.com . It's interest and location based. Judges at Startup Weekend hated it. What do you guys think? Is it worth pursuing? Here's a screenshot of what it looks like on the inside http://imgur.co

The first thing I thought of that is similar to Rendr is http://meteor.com/ . I'm not sure about how it works with Angular. It does describe itself as a framework where Rendr describes itself as a library, so I'd think it'd be easier to r

MeeGo was pretty great at running a lot of Linux binaries, wasn't it? I never had a phone with it or played with it, but it always seemed it was a big step closer to a mobile OS that allowed your phone to do most anything your desktop could

I was at a Startup Weekend a couple weeks ago and had the opportunity to talk to one of the speakers about the UI I'd put together (his speech was on U(I/X)). I knew my landing page didn't look modern, but couldn't put my finger on the reas

Don't worry, it is a good thing. The ones who want to take it further will naturally start digging into what's going on behind the scenes. Where would games be if we didn't have abstraction?

Just came up with this, but you could ask the interviewee to teach you something programming related that he/she learned recently. That should tell you how well they communicate, can deeply show you their level of experience (and interest),

Excellent! Very well written and expressed. There was an interviewee here today and I heard my boss tell someone to quiz him on big-o notation. I rolled my eyes. Yesterday I had an interview that started off with "Tell me a bit about yourse

I found out recently that this doesn't apply only to business ventures, but also personal projects. Free and open-source yet no one will find them unless I do the extra legwork. I built a visual remote designer for the mobile app Unified Re

This brings up a good point. The two companies I've worked for have used a ton of open source software and have contributed nothing back. It kind of disgusts me. Am I wrong to feel that way?
