Edit: I updated the tutorials link with a list of other links I've compiled. Also, it looks like they upped the board price to $9.99 ( http://www.ti.com/ww/en/launchpad/msp430_head.html ). It is absolute

Look into the TI MSP430. It was built with low-power in mind. There's even an Arduino IDE port for it called Energia if you're not comfortable in C/C++. Check out http://www.43oh.com for forums. Also, I put togeth

I love the last line! I also agree that the language is probably the least of their worries. I can understand reluctance to change a system when it works perfectly, but this obviously doesn't work perfectly. Sounds like a good project

They'd be better going after people who center themselves around Android dev and have a lot of followers on Twitter, G+, etc.

Off topic, but does anyone else make all their calls through Google Voice and get the 'This call is now being recorded' message randomly during conversations? It has spooked everyone who has been on the other end of the line when

I was going to mention this if someone else hadn't. Also, here is my solution to viewing data from my car http://csmatt.com/notes/?p=5 . I use and love the Torque app (as seen in the last pic)!

Can we all take a second to appreciate what this man accomplished? Wikipedia's success relied on getting people to write about a variety of topics (aka be content generators) and others to read and fact check to provide a useful experi

There are so many tools for unminifying JS, why would you squint at it in the browser?

My name is Matt and I'm an addict. I think many of us can relate to what is being discussed. I, for one, get a huge kick out of trying to write concise, clever code to solve problems, but that often leads to a lot of time spent on something

Why not a standard set of symbols to cover all of the standard stuff? You understand what the symbol means one and no longer have to check for something that might be skipped in.

I looked at Vega, but couldn't see much benefit in it. My implementation isn't too crazy. - The data must be on the scope containing the directive. - There's a scope.$watch('bind', function(newVal){}) in the directive's link function which

I've been creating a bunch of angularjs directives for d3 for a project at work and was thinking about seeing if they would let me put them up on github. I've seen FullScale's danglejs, but it's not as configurable as we'd like and only has

When I found this for http://www.socialocale.com it was a godsend! It made the weird database operations a breeze when working with third-party libs like Userena. It also gave me a concise, modular way to get/put information. If your proj

There are quite a few in this space. I like the idea, though. It would probably gain traction if there was a nice sandbox and set of tools to mock up and understand requests for different services. I have links for all of these if you want
