I haven't anything with fastText, but I have with word2vec. It embeds each word in a 300 dimensional vector, such that similar words have a large cosine similarity. (If you normalize each vector to have a unit norm, then cosine simila

The paper you link is about word2vec, which has taken quite a while to understand. This paper shows word2vec is a particular factorization of the word-context matrix. Neural Word Embedding as Implicit Matrix Factorization https://

There have been a number of attempts to automatically do redistricting using Operations Research techniques. Here's one such slide deck, using integer programming. http://www.illc.uva.nl/COST-IC1205/documents/

I thought the same thing. I'm giving my 16 year old son (who's into hacking) a lifetime subscription for Christmas, so I would really have been bummed if they were closing down.

It was a lot of little things. One big takeaway is that they're big on going vertical not horizontal. Find a niche. There was some useful stuff on landing page optimization. patio11 gave a talk that year that was great. I also found

Sorry, looking at the paper, they aren't claiming a polynomial time solution, so I retract my previous comment. They just claim "faster" than previous, but still exponential. The previous best was O (2^(n/2)) time and O

Subset sum is NP-complete ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subset_sum_problem ), so wouldn't this imply that P = NP? Hence, I don't believe it.

Yes, that's the Pragmata guy. I first paid for his font in January 2004, and he still sends out updates. (I did upgrade to Pragmata Pro in 2011, but still). He's been doing nifty program specific ligatures lately.
