I'm not sure that post is 100% correct. Reading it gave me a bad feeling that it missed something I'd read in the past. See here for example ... http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1741820/assignment-operat... The = operator is only a "top

Keep going. Until the important libraries catch up, you should be using 2.7 for doing most projects at the moment. You won't have wasted much learning in the mean time. Happy New Year.

My son liked "Hello World! Computer Programming for Kids and Other Beginners", which teaches python. He preferred it to Zed Shaw's "Learn Python the Hard Way".

Yes, it costs money. I've used the Mac version for several years now, and the windows version for maybe 10 years before that. I think I've had my money's worth. Given that it works for me better than anything else, the cost is nothing. I do

I like Araxis Merge, especially the edit in place feature. http://www.araxis.com/merge_mac/index.html It does directory comparison. Kaleidoscope seemed pretty, but not as powerful.

It is hard psychologically to realize you can never built the set as intended again. You end up lots of sets in big ziplocs. We've finally moved most of our son's legos into a single big bin, but he was opposed to it for a long time.

I think my 4 year old girl is going to greatly prefer their new legos. Right now, she plays with Duplos, and all is well. However, I can see a day when legos are "too boy". That's just what they reported happening in the Lego studies. D

Well, many people (including me) are low in vitamin D, because we spend so much time indoors. My dermatologist said (only partially joking) that if you're aren't deficient in vitamin D, you're not using enough sunscreen.
