Backend code has moved a little. Java's popularity might even be waning. I don't know about anyone else, but must of my time is spent wrangling enormous scripts in tools like CloudFormation to deploy relatively small amounts of co

I mostly agree, but more regulation means higher barriers to entry which would suit them. It's win-win. We should really just stop using Google so much. You go first, I can't be bothered to switch!

This costs money but less than the fine and insurance rise from the points. In some circumstances, sometimes not, even more so if you have to miss any work to attend the course. A friend of mine did one after being caught at 33mph in a 3

You're not the only one. I used to travel around Europe regularly with work and enjoyed most of it. I've now got a 7 year old and twin 2 year olds. They're a handful and a half, even on a good day. They're my family, muc

Stuff like this. Although there's an argument you don't have to, you just have to convince a relatively small number of politicians. I think sites like this help. Quite a poor job has been done of pushing the data to the front and

I can't assuage your fears. I tried it a year or so ago when I was first starting AWS serverless dev. IIRC it supports very few services. Most of our lambdas were behind API gateway and a Cognito authorizer but localstack didn't h

Aren't there USB condoms to prevent the cloning route? I don't know if that's still a thing in the days of type C.

This is not Scotland, Catalonia has never been a sovereign state that decided to join a union preserving its sovereignty. That's not what happened with Scotland.

I still don't know how to effectively convince others to take on new risks in order to avoid bigger risks presented by the status quo. I think you just need to be talking to someone who can understand the risks you convey, has the re

If an arrow shaft was found from about 1500 years ago, does that imply there probably wasn't ice there at the time? Or were people hunting on the ice then?
