I'm excited to see how RocketLab's Neutron could maybe add a second real player. Somebody's gotta do something! But yes indeed, Starship being operational and reusbale will absolutely dominate. We're looking at multiple

There's a middle ground here. I saw the northern lights with my own eyes just days ago and it was mostly grey. I saw some color. But when I took a photo with a phone camera, the color absolutely popped . So it may be that you've

This is quite similar to my idea and prototype I applied to YC with just last week. Uh-oh! Haha. I did call out GitHub as a primary competitor so I did see this coming - and I guess on second looks I'm still quite differentiated. All t

A little clickbaity title there, as it seems like the habits of riders with e-bikes on average does the trick, not the individual bike itself. That is, I suppose that measured along the same route the e-bike rider would get significantly le

What’s missing from your calculation is the current Mars plans from SpaceX or others. They plan on building a colony of millions of people. In order to do that, costs must be dramatically lower and return trips must be possible. So all the

What makes you say that? After some months or years of finding Mars and Jupiter in the sky it became second nature to me. You can just judge the time, don’t need a clock, look up at the sky and spot things immediately. If you’ve been practi

Oh yeah, I'm aware that you'll need multiple probes - but I imagine we could send 50 or 100 of these things starting in like 20-30 years once some of the required engineering on propulsion systems etc is done. Assuming we have the

No, we wouldn't know today. But this is knowable in about 50 years or so, if we send probes to ~550AU and use the Sun as a gravitational lens; we will then be able to get high-res (1km resolution?) photos/videos of nearby extrasol

It's a lot of people here - HN does occasionally love a space story, but typically Mars stories are met with insults, sarcasm and vitriol for those who are interested in it. Edit: The effect is so strong, I have occasionally wondered i
