The wikis of GitHub and GitLab are nice for developers, but I doubt that non-technical users will be happy with them. Inserting a link to a recently created page is really simple in Confluence, but there is no assistence in these wikis. Ins

I've experience with MediaWiki, and it was not very popular. The markup language is one of the worst I've ever seen. I would prefer good, old HTML instead. But, anyway, non-technical users don't like it.

I know Zenkit but it is not a replacement for Jira. It could possibly replace Jira in some (not so complex) scenarios, but not Confluence. And the Zenkit Android app is a disaster.

We have performance issues with Jira (cloud) and I fear the same could happen with Confluence in the cloud. Another point is license cost -- I think the price of Confluence is ok, but we have some confluence sceptics and a lower price would

I don't get the point with Java feeling slow because of the slow start time (compared to C++). If I understand correctly Passenger is a server application and this kind of application is typically started rarely and long running, so th

That is all very well and I really appreciate Apple's long support for iPhones, but Apple did popularize firmly bonded batteries in its phones and even in notebooks. A battery is a wear part and should be easy to replace. Every thing e

The author compares Spring and Java EE vs. Node.js. But these three things can do very different things. It would be better to compare Node.js with something like Reactor or RxJava and a reactive Web framework like WebFlux. > Dahl’s expe

I hate this with Ubuntu, too. And then you see that you systems since <crazy name> are supported and you have to google to find out the actual Ubuntu release number and compare it to that of the target system. Annoying!

Hugo is a fantastic tool and I would choose it again. However there is a little annoying bug for years: If you let Hugo create a table of contents it adds an unnecessary level of nesting, if the highest level of content headings is h2. This

Has anyone noticed that it is always mentioned that a tool is written in Go, even if this implementation detail has no relevance for the user? Nobody would write "Universal C++ CLI ...".

Am I the only one preferring hierarchical forums? Longer discussions in flat forums are almost always a mess. I think that we need a forum with the good hierarchical overview of the good, old usenet clients (but with updated UI, of course).

Why should Go be faster? Both languages use a garbage collector and Java is highly optimized. Plus Java can be optimized even further at runtime.
