I hope that this approach fails dramatically! Building such an infrastructure without end-to-end encryption is a crime.

If this is related to the data scandal, I wonder how naive people have been before it.

I'd prefer if a password would be generated by default, when you create a new entry. That's the way KeePass works and it encourages to use strong generated passwords (instead of user created passwords). Another thing I'd like

I really hope that they will build a Thunderbird version for the browser. Something like Horde or RoundCube isn't exactly a joy to use and most people are heading towards GMail and the like just because it is the simplest option.

I wonder why they don't use HTTP2 Server Push instead of Web Sockets. And I wonder why they don't want to use MQTT. Can you think of any good reasons?

If Amazon isn't willing to sell Google products, Google could be unwilling to show search results leading to Amazon ... This battle could be so entertaining that you don't need YouTube or Amazon videos at all ;-)

I bet you could do the same (with different syntax of course) with Gradle.

But if SBT is at a point where a (more or less) complete rewrite is discussed, it is probably the time to think about Gradle a second time. Even the new Kotlin DSL should look familiar to Scala devs.

Why does the Scala community needs its own build tool? Why not just use Gradle? Or if something is missing, adding this to Gradle and then using Gradle.

I hope that firefox will continue to protect users privacy as good as possible. I'm thinking of super cookies and the like. Other brother vendors don't seem to be very engaged in this area.

Reading the paragraph about "illegal states" that should be avoided in software, I thought of "design by contract", what never really took off. Microsoft .NET has a really nice implementation called "code contracts&

I see a clear pro Scala tendency in this article. Take for example this statement: > In addition, Scala includes features that you won’t find in either Kotlin or Java, such as full support for pattern matching, macros, and higher-kinded

I would rather suggest the opposite: the compilers will be moved out of frameworks, because they will become more and more powerful and general purpose, so that there is no need to handle framework specific things. When we have web assembly

No, it's not. Scala can call Java easily, but not the other way around. Calling Java from Scala is awkward at best (in many cases) and sometimes impossible. Scala was never engineered with a smooth Java/Scala mixed mode in mind. T

I think Kotlin would be a much better language to learn programming. Kotlin avoids much of the noise and is very readable. The hello world example is symptomatic: public class Example { public static void main(String ...args)
