I find records super useful! You can not only express things like a Point(x, y) easily, but you can also wrap primitive types like integer to give values semantic, behavior and typesafety. Records are the perfect fit for value types as used

I see parallels to the Gnome desktop. Users are patronized in the same way and features are crippled, because the developers know best what users actually want! I stopped using Gnome and although I like Firefox for being the last free brows

100 requests per second? That is not too impressive. Yes, I know Python is their tool of choice, but it is probably the wrong tool for the problem at hand. There are frameworks that can handle over a million requests per second (simple json

In my (humble) opinion only URL makes much sense in the context of the web, since URI could be almost anything addressing something (in the internet or not).

Sennheiser PXC 550-II. It is comfortable to wear, has good sound and noise cancellation - and void through. Connection is possible with Bluetooth, USB and classic jack plug.

I'm a long term Firefox user, but I'm losing hope. Google (mis)used its power to push Chrome and Google implements lots of Web APIs while Mozilla polishes Firefox UI. You can see a significant difference in supported APIs here: h

I think a sweet spot is "specification by example" also called behavior driven development (BDD). You take a more or less standardized, but human readable language to write down the specification and implement test adapters for it

As far as I know Roundcube doesn't support external address books. When I tested it I somehow didn't like the UX.

I consider the usage of Roundcube for the UI a downside. I've tried Roundcube myself and was not really satisfied. It is difficult for to describe what exactly is wrong with the UI but somehow the usability is not really good. Outlook

But the whole first screen is pointless. Why not show the log-in prompt directly on the first screen? This is counter intuitive and an example of "function follows form" (and not the other way around).

Improving UX, including usability testing with actual users, should be a top priority. Today Gnome has some pointless mobile-device-like UI concepts that don't make much sense on a desktop (like "swipe" away the start screen

Capitalism needs to be fixed immediately! The root cause is that short-term profits are more important than sustainability. Using pesticides is just one of many symptoms.

Since most developers don't like to write documentation, it is important to make the hurdle to write as low as possible. For me AsciiDoctor is the sweetspot because it is easy to setup, has good tool support (for example VS Code and In

For more complex technical documentation AsciiDoc would be a better fit than markdown. A simple table with code blocks is not possible with markdown, for example. I think the target audience is pretty much the same as for AsciiDoctor. http
