My trick there is not travelling to the US. I carry a burner phone when travelling most of the time anyway. It has access to email only, 99% of which is in offline folders anyway.

They’re only ok until something goes wrong or you end up with an overdraft. Then they screw you with poor customer service. Like the worst.

Huh? Why the hell would you use a bank that doesn't offer a web portal or have branches if there are banks that still do?!?! I bank with HSBC in the UK and there's still branches (worldwide) and banking via web. I assume you mean

This is a load of horse shit. You can't run a debt over 30 years for short lifespan infrastructure, staffing, energy usage and interest. You have to spend again 3 years down the line. It's a fucking snowball. There isn't enou

Crypto, block chain, LLMs. All wealth concentrator scams with low to no economic feasibility. What do you expect? Everyone to delude themselves?

I suspect they’re also lying about the utility there as well. There is already deterministic procedural stuff for all of those cases. Putting a chat bot in front of that is basically fucking stupid.

This is basically reading about heroin adoption from the heroin dealer. I’ll take information from multiple independent analysts please.

With pleasure. The article is pretty much on point but the prose makes it difficult to build sympathy with it. It feels sterile, lacking in conviction and generally detracts from the point. It's an emotional plea without any emotion.

Really not interested in this one. There is no data portability as none of the file formats they use for anything are documented and they are shovelling you into an eternal subscription model. At least Adobe file formats are well documented

Indeed. But they are until they are actually defeated. I would rather plan for failure. We are in a global climate where court rulings can be ignored.

Sudden account closure. Bad neighbours. IP blocks on DO ranges all over the place randomly. Egress email is painful.

AWS does care. You have to sign up with a credit card and verify a phone number. And if you want to spend serious money you have to actually provide business documentation.

It's much simpler than that. If you can't afford a video then don't make one. A slop video for $100 will devalue your entire brand. People will question your music. There's a lot more value in just cutting some live perf

I hate all this weird activist stuff. It's pointless. Someone just pays for it and the problem is fixed. If you want to sabotage their hyperscale data centre construction, you probably should do it from the inside. Get the skills, get

Seen similar. They will be back when they realise the vibe coded SaaS run by two people in a trailer park isn’t what it looked like. A lot of the big SaaS stuff isn’t code or product. It’s support and hand holding.
