One small propeller is less efficient than one big propeller. What drives the efficiency really is the ratio of propeller surface area to mass. So a lot of small propellers are roughly as efficient as a big one. Actually bonus point for the

Couple reasons: 1-An external API is a product, you have to maintain it, keep it backward compatible even when you change your internal models, monitor it, protect it against attacks, etc. So no, I do not agree that it would be easy for Sla

Even if Flutter existed, it would absolutely not have been an obviously smart move by Slack to DOUBLE their engineering workload by picking it instead of Electron while still having to develop a web based version. For what result? The app w

Apple charges $200 for 8GB additional RAM. So the cost of 600MB of Apple RAM in $15. That's the cost of 1 month of a subscription to Slack. You're likely to use your laptop for ~4years = 50months, so the RAM cost of Slack is aroun

I thought the same at first, but forcing one additional scope level / layer of indentation for each disposable resource ends up looking a lot like "callback hell", with deeply nested code. I've seen that in Python many t

Memoization is state. As a functional programming maximalist myself, I know it hurts a little bit, but still, Caching/Memoization is statefulness. That said, you are right that as a user of the system, that statefulness is abstracted f

There are lenses. Your eyes don't have to accommodate to a couple ft in front of you in VR, unlike with a screen. Instead they can focus on infinity or a very long distance, so it's actually wayyyyy better for myopia.

Moving the Web to Dart/Flutter would cost billions. How would it help in ANY way solving any challenge that currently exists? What even are these challenges? The OP is pretty blurry on that.
