I might be a bit weird about this but… the chances of somebody making something that I want to eat is pretty small. I don’t like eating food from a non-commercial kitchen that I haven’t seen. If you want to feed me, give me a DoorDash or Ub

It's fun to find a colleague's collection of Knuth's Art of Computer Programming Books books and open them to hear the crack of a book that's never been opened before.

I've had the same discussion with my parents. They wanted me to go through their home and mark down everything I want. I don't want any of it and frankly dealing with a full house of stuff after they die is something I dread. I wo

I don't user Evernote very often, but I have a bunch of stuff stored in there and use it basically in a read-only mode. For a long time I was able to get the $36 / year plan which I felt pretty good about. It was a great app and s

If John Carmack mentioned a great new debugger he's been using lately, I'd probably check it out. I trust him when it comes to software discussions. I'm taking a pretty broad definition of influencer. In your family, you may

I believe 1/2" pipe is exactly the same as DN15 pipe. 1/2" and 15mm are both just nominal sizes. Calipers will only help you if you happen to know the pipe schedule.

The J.C.R. Licklider book was difficult for me just because the font is small. I ended up finding an epub version and read that instead and loved it. The physical book is beautiful though and I'm glad I have it.

Do you think children should still be expected to be able to do arithmetic by hand? I think the answer maybe comes down to figuring out exactly what the goal of school is. Are you trying to educate people or train them? There is for sure a

I guess it depends on how you define car enthusiast. A lot of Americans spend far more on their vehicle than they need to and so I would classify them as enthusiasts even if they couldn't tell you how many cylinders their engine has.
