Maybe with older adults the baseline goal should be to merely maintain or slow the loss of the muscle, mobility, and cardiovascular capacity they already have? It's not realistic for a 50 year old to think they could build muscle year-

Radiolab (the podcast) did a good series on border policy that was pretty informative. IIRC, the US-Mexico border was never open , but it was quite porous. People would come to the US, work for a season to make some money, then go home. Th

It's the outliers that are geographic and system dependent. Rank the schools and exclude outliers at both extremes. The remaining schools aren't filled with teachers acting like prison guards watching over illiterate students.

> Because you don't pay for the water, you buy the rights. Is that true? I've only ever lived places where we pay for water by the gallon from a municipal system. I've always assumed that's how most non-agricultural c

Why is water so inexpensive? Shouldn’t the price per gallon increase exponentially? It seems like it shouldn’t be that difficult to come up with curves so that typical households pay very little for water and the big users pay a lot for wat

What do you mean by that? A union represents you as a worker and not your work. Baseball players, for example, are represented by the MLBPA. Collectively they get a say in things like setting the rules of the game and negotiating healthcare

That must be why Amazon does a lot of pre-processing on their server. They know what device they are sending to and can tailor the file for that device. Maybe expecting the X4 to look great is asking too much. It took Amazon years to get it
