From a purely UX perspective, there’s a huge difference between “no lines of code” and “a few lines of code”.

Totally agree. I sense ML in general can benefit tremendously from buttery-smooth UX, something it has typically lagged behind on. Keep it up Nidhal, you’re doing a tremendous service. Don’t let the snobs get to you.

Happy someone else echoes my sentiment too, especially when Ruby seems to be beloved by everyone around. So many ways of doing the same thing; unnecessary cognitive burden for both reading and writing.

For better or worse, I feel that one "simple" change that would make any project more attractive to newcomers is switching to GitHub for development.

A much saner heuristic could use a reasonable range (for some value of reasonable) around the current timestamp to check whether it's also one. The assumption being that logs will be streamed, hence any timestamp will likely refer to s

> why support single quoted strings? That just makes parsing harder. And something that a lot of language designs ignore: it makes writing harder and unnecessarily contentious. People will use them inconsistently, which has the usual eff

But unfortunately YAML is a complex maximalist mess with a million ways to do the same thing and more ways to shoot yourself in the foot.

Even without sideloading, the Google Play Store is so full of trash apps that request dubious permissions and are littered with dark patterns. Not that it doesn't happen on the App Store, but it's significantly worse on Android. I

That sounds like a good guideline to be honest. Perhaps not the best-worded one, but gets the point across and avoids becoming another Google Play Store.

On a slight tangent, I'd rather have only checked exceptions, so I know exactly what might throw where. Instead, I have to rely on potentially outdated Javadoc and debugging runtime exceptions in production to find them.

Well it does keep things simple, and as a side effect removes the cognitive burden of choosing a certain argument style (for both the developer and user).

I dealt with serious anxiety in high school and accidentally learned that just forcing myself to breathe slower made everything much calmer. No need to overthink any special technique. Just breathe slow, and try not to breathe too shallow.
