Yes, but there aren't many 48V DC appliances -- radios, lights, gauges, etc. Many larger boats have 24V DC systems, and there are quite a few boat electronics that run on either 12V or 24V (though you will still need either a 24->12

Interesting, I removed a splitter from the attic many years ago and replaced it with an F-F coupler. I wonder if the coupler’s center conductor contacts could be expanding just enough to break the connection?

Interesting, I wonder if I’m experiencing something a little bit similar that Comcast can’t seem to debug. Almost every day, in the heat of summer, I get one to five 10-minute outages as soon as the temp gets over about 80F. More when it’s

Just to be clear, these are trackers from the web page , not trackers called by your car, correct? I'm never surprised by the web trackers (which my ad blocker generally filters too), but 3rd-party trackers called from devices/

I’m so humbled by your comment, and the one below. I really knew nothing about “game programming” when I wrote the book, but I did know a few things about graphics programming, and in particular a thing called “WinG” that was a very short-l

Andre LaMothe, my counterpart writer for Waite Group Press. I wrote “The Black Art of Windows Game Programming” in 1994. Mitch (Waite) loved those “Black Art” titles. Edits for spelling and year, which I’m still not sure about.

I think new cars are still required to report engine codes (ones that cause the CEL to trigger) on the OBD port. That’s still a large percentage of engine problems, and in particular, the ones that prevent you from getting registration rene

And I love how they call it "10-digit calling" even though it generally requires 11 digits (or 11 button presses on cell).

It's not totally uncommon. I have a Waveceptor and several other clocks that use WWVB. One works perfectly, most of the others are usually good, one gets off a couple of times a year (so therefore useless), and my Waveceptor has gone

which also means that it is one more bit to set on the receiver (in addition to time zone). I have many clocks with WWVB time. Many miss signals and become off, one even gets an error once in a while and has the time many hours off. Not

In 1977 I took an old B&W TV (tubes!), took the yoke off the neck of the picture tube, and put another one on. Then I ran the wires from the yoke to the speakers (left X, right Y) of an 8-track player that had a built-in amplifier, and

I don't get what's "Ubuntu-based" about Rhino? It uses XFCE, and Pacstall for package management, which to me makes it utterly unlike Ubuntu.

Indeed, I no longer use do-release-upgrade and instead find it "easier" to install the new release from scratch and copy my ~user and other backups over. It's a PITA (have to install all the packages I had on old version),

I came back here today to see if anyone has the answer to the original question. It seems no one does. So I don't know that ChatGPT would ever get the answer, since the interwebs doesn't have it.

None of these comments seem relevant to TFA, which is specifically about card-not-present fraud. Chip and PIN doesn't work for internet payment. Bank transfers don't work well internationally. It is trivial to turn on AVS (address

I don’t think they need your likeness for an extra. They can just create an army of AI extras and use them without paying for anyone’s likeness. That’s my understanding of the strike anyway.

Recursive inputs are bad, but my biggest (maybe) fear is just _obsolete_ or “tired” inputs. I.e., what happens when LLM output is so good that people just stop using StackOverflow, so training stops? Mind you, I got a great answer from GPT-
