Great interview. (Happen to agree with BE entirely. ;-) I like the image at the end of a bunch of little bangs instead of one big (failing) bang. Maybe even if they're synchronized nicely you can get the same effect as an internal comb

Sure, but if users want developers to stay in business, the latter need recurring revenue from ongoing investment. "Extorting money to fix their technical debt". Really?

Yeah, by no action I mean no substantial action that would seriously increase developer revenues like: trial versions without hacky in-app purchases; paid upgrades; actual working app discovery; etc.

Seems like this is a lost cause. With nearly no action after 7+ years, Apple's not going to change the app store fundamentals. But, boy was it exciting at the start! Shed a few tears and move on...

GKC is little-remembered today among the general public, but when he died in 1936, all of England mourned. An incredible and gifted man, and a paradox himself. (The paradox was his favorite writing tool; it makes extended reading of his non

One imagines it'll be liberally licensed like LLVM, which Chris Lattner also BDFLs. And they said it would be the compiler and the runtime for OS X, iOS, and (surprisingly) Linux.

Nice to see that Chris (Lattner) got his way. I chatted with him last WWDC right after the main Swift technical session, and he expressed the desire to open source it, but had no idea if he could get it through the powers that be. Supportin

So, IIUC, Polymer and FB React are competing visions of how to build web components. Does anyone have direct experience with both, and can compare them from a real-world usage viewpoint? Thanks!

Newspeak's UI paradigm is one of the most interesting things I've seen in years. The Hopscotch video from 2009 at http://www.newspeaklanguage.org/podcasts-and-talks covers some of it.

Is it OK to say the emperor has no clothes? I think this is an ugly, clumsy typeface, designed primarily for legibility in a particular small application (the watch). Now it's now rumored to be destined as the system font in 10.11. Goi
