He's a writer, and his business is to write books that people want. I love his work! Similar to Dilbert's Scott Adam's books. After reading them, I don't walk away thinking "you weren't 100% correct, therefor

I had a similar experience with GoDaddy. The magic trick was to put it in writing. An email was sufficient, make sure you are explicit - "Thank you for my free trial that commenced on xx/xx/xxxx. I do not wish to proceed.

What's your dev environment? If I've ever had a problem with Visual Studio it always is some type of add-on. I've been using it for years and have never had a problem.

Have you seen the Bizspark program?[1] I never really understand the argument against Microsoft software being out of the range of reasonable expenses. Certainly for all the corporates I have worked at, Ultimate is well within their budget.

Just remember what the purpose of the contract is. (For me) its "what do I want to happen when things go horribly wrong?". High level would be: - Payment terms. Fixed price, with 50% deposit? Time and materials? Something else

I believe you were down voted not for what you said, but the way you have said it. I've been down voted several times for (what I see) as relatively minor remarks. The HN readers are a sensitive bunch...

You should look at clans that specifically focus on older gamers. I was with TOG[1] for a long time. They are a great bunch of people! [1] http://www.theoldergamers.com/

That is so on the money! Like everything in life - just because it appears simple, doesn't mean it is easy... ...and then go bang your partner again. They're either missing you or about to break up with you.

I don't think we are talking about the same thing. Depending on who you read, Github is a $750m company. What's the payout going to be - $2m? $5m? This isn't going to bankrupt them. San Diego Sea World and the killer whale

It means just that! Github have a very fine line to walk. They don't have traditional shareholders to make happy. At the end of the day, all they have is their brand to protect. Ask Microsoft how important their brand is after releas
