LOVED my Action Replay. That was really clever - apart from infinite lives, you could also pull out the sprites. I feel like we live in similar times any time I see a good javascript game!

I was thinking the same thing... I can only think of "bragging rights" or a learning experience. Although I think this is what makes the (internet) world awesome at the moment. The author sounds like they were mucking around to se

If you are going to stay as a junior or even mid level developer - not much. But if there's even a slight chance you might move on to software architect, management or sales then in my experience it is essential. That doesn't mean

I don't think that is as crazy as it sounds. Remember, back then, the commercial potential of a "computer" was for the military. Even if you had the idea & concept back then, AND the money to build it - what would you do

I've certainly seen great slabs of code that have clearly been copied from somewhere , perhaps not Stackoverflow. Unless there is some type of reference, you have no idea of what is going on or why...

VERY opinionated! You are going to get downvoted to heck for comments like that. Try personalizing it: 'I found PHP much easier to learn for ..... but when I wanted xyz performance, .NET performance was abc.' Give a use case

In 2012, Microsoft was a significant contributor to Linux[1]. This was mostly because of Hyper-V. So, if/when it suits them, Microsoft are all over Linux [1] http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/09/16/linux_

I think you might be a bit harsh. First thing on the landing page, it says: "Write your music scores online" Create, collaborate and discover sheet music with your web browser I found the "popular" link pretty quickly.

Well written. I know we hear a lot of doom and gloom, but I think it's a fantastic time we live in. Not only do we have the transparency of the courts (which is good, but I don't understand it), we have an article summarising it.

Have you read 'the Artists Way' (Julia Cameron)? For me, it wasn't about setting thoughts & feelings free, it was about getting clarity around them. A good example - Donald Trump. Do I like him? (No! He's racist!)

My wife is a professional violinist. If you've seen a recent Australian movie or watched commercial news, you most likely have heard her play. The way she practices, the way she "gets in the flow" is VASTLY different to a ne

(I think!!!) it is a problem of scale. In 3rd world locations, you can be walking 3km every 2nd day to fill a jerrycan of water. If that's the case then you aren't going to use that to flush. And even if you do (using grey water a
