What does that mean in practice though? That both parents should stay at home until the kids are 10?

Cool. I haven’t used Krita, but I’ve always thought of it as a painting tool. But apparently it can do more than that!

Been using Internet since 1996, never made any money directly from it. But it sure has been helpful when pursuing a career in tech.

Yes. You are so right. It’s fascinating and quite scary, how fast our minds can get used to things. The first time I saw output from DALL-E I thought: Is this actual output from ML/“AI” or is it a hoax? It wasn’t a hoax, so I was very

I guess the reason he wrote on his blog is to inform the users about the change. Why someone posted this to Hacker News though, I’m not sure… It doesn’t really invite to very interesting discussion, IMHO.

I don’t think all orgs he’s dealing with are charities proper. AFAICT some of them are tiny volunteer-run groups. I think we safely can assume that not all of those groups have vast amounts of funding.

From TFA: What he did is that he removed the ability for event organizers to provide images to him. The risks involved was simply too big, since many event organizers failed to clear permissions before submitting images to him.

I sometimes go years and years between upgrading (: There are rarely any new features that I really need . So by the time I upgrade, most bugs are usually sorted out.

I know that ESR considers himself to be an “LBIP”. Not really convinced that the claim has merit…

Interesting idea. I imagine Emacs would be able to support this if you’re willing to dive into Elisp. You would probably need some heuristic to guess language (per line?). However, have you considered a much easier solution: Use a typeface

I agree that the naming of the different entities is not very clear. That doesn’t imply that each of these entities is a mess though.

What is it more specifically that you think is a mess? Do you mean the OCI Image Format, Docker Inc, Docker Engine, something else…?

I relate to this, a lot. I used to be quite an avid book reader. These days, I find it very hard to focus when reading books. The allure of hypertext is just so tempting.
