A similar thing happened to me around 2020 or so. Getting a sane answer from Twitter’s support just wasn’t possible. So I created a completely new Twitter account. Then later a Mastodon account. Now I don’t do microblogging any longer. I’m

Out of curiosity, how does one reach you? (Saw no info/contact details in your profile.) Also, where does QEMU people hang out online? AFAICT the IRC channel is not very active. (Based on few and random visits, so I could be wrong.)

What are your goals? Are you interested in emulation (i.e. running a VM that uses another architecture than your physical computer) or in virtualization? (i.e. running a VM that uses the same architecture)

Yeah, IMHO that’s one of the funniest and best computer games ever. For those who haven’t played it, I can warmly recommend it.

AFAIK, nginx doesn’t require root. If you’re thinking about the ability to bind port 80/443, you should be able to do that via CAP_NET_BIND_SERVICE. With that said, Caddy is pretty rad.

This whole thread is so weird. It’s like people really want to say “yeah, Sam Altman was fired from YC”.

Lima is very useful on Mac where you can’t launch OCI containers natively.

I’m on Mac and I think Lima is terrific. To me it’s as if VirtualBox and Vagrant had a child. Inside the VM I mainly run Docker Engine and sometimes other Linux-specific applications.

In case you didn’t recognize the trope: It’s a reference to the seminal article ‘Smashing the stack for fun and profit’ by Aleph One. Published in Phrack #49, 1996. IIUC that was the article that introduced the concept of buffer overflow ex

You asked HN if it’s worth it. My personal take: To me, no, it wouldn’t be worth it. I have a hard time seeing myself trying such an arrangement. I would rather try consulting instead. But your mileage may vary. If you feel that you have go

PS. Perhaps I was a little to brusque in my comment. I could have phrased it like this: When using Telegram, be aware that it’s severe shortcomings when it comes to security.

Have you considered migrating to another platform? For example Signal. They offer better security and there seems to be support options AFAICT: https://support.signal.org/hc/en-us/articles/6746004451610-C...
