A one stop service for moving. Connecting/disconnecting utilities, address change, car registration, new laws I should be aware of. End the piecemeal.

No medical background here, but I've had that same thought myself. I know it's completely unethical to prescribe a placebo (and I assume knowing it is a placebo erases said effects) but how nice would it be to have the ability t

Interesting that you mention blindness. The National Federation of the Blind first condemned people-first language in 1993. It really does depend on the group, however in my area of intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) there is

Nope, it is justified. People-first language is a subtle, but psychologically affecting issue. I.e. Saying "teenagers with Down syndrome" instead of "Down syndrome teenagers" You have a disability, you aren't define

Look at real estate prices. There was an article I read not too long ago that showed the areas in NYC with more trees and greenery also command higher rents. Also on a completely anecdotal level I feel more "at ease" and less anxi

Feeble minded? Christ. Oh the horror of someone trying to better themselves with a 0 side-effect $10 book that in some instances can be more effective than antidepressants . https://aeon.co/essays/can-self-help-books-b

No, no, no, I'm not advocating for that at all. Rather, trying to be the slightest bit aware of what the sewage of thoughts in your head consists of.

I think depression is a beast with many intersecting roads. The chemical imbalance seems like it could be more the result of something than the root cause.

The "chemical imbalance" theory has been losing steam for quite some time. The British Psychological Society has issued this consensus statement: There is actually no evidence for the current view – and we agree with many senior

Thank you very much for this. I have some very deep-seated subconscious beliefs that have really affected my life for the worse. Meditation has helped me be aware of them and their nature, but I still need to figure out how to fight back.

Same sentiment here. It can be hard to find motivation when you realize how fleeting everything is. I always enjoy reading the Graham essay though, and trying to balance my awareness of time and not getting crushed by it.

Eh-- pick your battles. If family members get a positive placebo effect from listening to "5 Hours High Quality BEST 432hz Meditation Healing Chakra" on YouTube...Who cares?

I wouldn't be surprised one bit. Very downvotable anecdote here but... My mom is a vegetarian and was before/during pregnancy. This was before prenatal fish oil and DHA/EPA supplements were all the rage. I'm vegetarian m

I appreciate the list and encouragement, but "trying not to have thoughts" goes against most meditation teachings. It's more along the lines of "trying not to react to thoughts"

What's next? Are you going to account for the cost of making water? Not the bill you pay to the utility for use, but the actual cost of formulating water? What about air? How about the cost of creating a sun if you rely on solar power?
