Aero Glass support is mentioned as a positive change but Aero Glass was always a hindrance for me; it made things hard to read and was disorienting.

I suggest using more descriptive words than 'modern'. Simple, uncluttered, native, and interactive seem like better words to describe the effort you've put into the application.

What does it mean to be modern in this context? Are you trying to differentiate from some other client in a meaningful way? The description says modern design language but it looks pretty plain, which is a good thing, but I wouldn't us

VS is substantially worse than IDEA in this regard; the feature set is consistently years behind, and many actions that are instant in IDEA are long, modal/blocking operations in VS.

When was this? I've been using IDEA for years and I've been satisfied with memory usage. There's actually a problem with massively increasing the memory usage such that more and more garbage builds up making garbage collectio

Regardless of their written policy or silly warranty void stickers, the law dictates the warranty still covers all components not modified or damaged by the consumer. You might have to fight in court, but thats the law.

This demonstrates one of my peeves with many progress bars: the indeterminate state is briefly and periodically indistinguishable from the determinate states.

Cooler Screens CEO is either delusional or manipulative. Or has access to some unusually accurate consumer research that somehow contradicts the apparently incorrect broadly accepted truth.

This seems like a huge security risk. Are they auditing the thousands of third-party packages that make up a typical react app?

They probably gave the icloud team, a team largely made up of web developers, full authority over that system preference pane. Their experience is in react, they chose react; makes a lot of sense. Even more so if the data here is used by si

IDEA looked near-native (aside from docking/windowing that doesn't have system L&F anywhere) before they forced users away from system L&F.

The 27" 5k LG displays are a really awkward resolution. Running with 100% display scaling, text is too small to read. Running at 200%, screen real estate is not big enough. This leaves non-whole-number ratios which cause crazy problems

Certainly the default L&F is not native looking, nor are any of the popular community L&Fs. Though one can simply set the L&F to the native look and feel with essentially one line of code. The little care I'm referring to i

Some of those dialogs are indeed not great and a weak point. There are a few options to get a native picker though.

Java Swing still lets you make native-looking-and-feeling apps (with some care). I don't know of any new GUI frameworks that let you do the same. I consider this a killer-feature of the framework. It's also very fast, backed by Op

I guess I'm just looking for some evidence to support the decision to use GPU. Show some framerate benchmarks, some CPU usage comparisons, etc.
