It took Brian_K_White's reply before I figured you were talking about "via" and not "PCB" :) (because you put "acronym" before "/short word")

The post I replied to said "If I'm doing vias, I'm nearly finished with prototyping". You're not if you're using a QFN switcher which needs heat dissipation via the center pad. There's lots of cases of pro

I guess you've never used QFN packages nor high-speed digital buses. Also you don't have to reroute, you can build it the same.

Your temperature differential is already 300K, so the efficiency needs to be high enough. 50K change is only 18% more cooling, but if COP=5 then it's also putting out 20% more heat...

We won't get there by just saying "they" should be punished; most people can agree on that. Be specific on who and how.

Obviously there are various schemes to mitigate (not eliminate) this loss and others. It all takes expertise and money, both of which will be in short supply. Also it's not like Greenland has an excess of concrete or steel either.

Or, you could let people decide how large a bedroom they are willing to rent and stop micromanaging/over-regulating every bit of real estate, which is why the costs are too high.
