The only reason you'll fail is because your product sucks, not lack of marketing or money. You are trying to do too much too soon, making everything mediocre crap. 1) Simplify everything; figure out what the one thing your site does well is

Probably needs a bit more functionality and an actual problem to solve. I've also previously used that space for notification bars that hover over where your product would go (for errors, successful actions, etc.) So your product wouldn't f

Sounds like you and him have never worked together before. There is an entire lack of communication, and I think your ignorance or lack of persistence is partially to blame. Lesson learned though, good luck.

I've seen ImportConcern from some car forums before. JDM Skylines in particular have always been in demand, and everyone was looking/waiting for R32/R33/R34 GTR's. Small world, glad to know your business is still up and running!

Hi Annabelle, thanks for replying. Normally I'm not this pessimistic, but the circumstances screamed of suspicion. So are you going to be managing marketing for this app? What have you planned to try and get coverage?

Okay HN'ers, don't get your hopes up. This is a very good marketing ploy from someone very smart on HN. But I don't have all the facts; all I know is that "Annabelle" created "her" account 2 days ago and has no history of participating on H

Hmm, if AOL and Yahoo somehow did merge, that would mean Techcrunch would belong to Yahoo. Would TC still trash Yahoo in their articles?

That's actually pretty funny. But I think you'd get annoyed by blurred pages taking forever to unblur and then not having anything bad on them. I think most people are desensitized anyway, and just look off-image until they can close it.

Cute, but in the literal sense, I don't think you can call Apple, a 30+ year old company, a startup. The word is "Start" + "up". Time probably has the most to do with it, because your not a startup after more than a couple years. If your st

"Would you use my product" is really an awful question to ask. At a basic level, sure you get enough responses to see if its worthwhile. But the data is valueless, because its not even close to indicative of whether or not people will pay f

Not necessarily, there are people with mobile and web apps who are making nice sums of money, maybe hundreds to thousands of dollars a month. Some are extremely low maintenance and don't need to be updated at all.
