I mean TextEdit. It definitely supports this to some degree, at least. Try typing “4 * 2 =” on a new line. Heck even Safari on my phone autofilled “8” when typing this comment.

The "Math Notes" thing is absolutely infuriating to me. I use TextEdit on macOS for various notes and the forced math autocomplete (with no way to turn it off) has pushed me away from TextEdit entirely.

That doesn't mean it's not an alternative to Lightroom. That was put in for reasons discussed in https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27722258

> Beware of C23 and later. Beware of what? C23 fixed a number of issues. Sure, there are some oddballs (QChar and auto, mostly), but overall I think C23 is an improvement.

The terms "macro" and "metaprogramming" already have well-defined meanings in the C++ community. You're just hijacking the terms and using them with some new definition. The C++ standard is consistent in how it uses

Yes, the bitcode specifies whether a memory operation/address uses 32-bit or 64-bit addressing, so a runtime/JIT can determine this ahead of time during the static analysis phase.

"Ban" is used pretty loosely here. For example, Utah allows community-owned networks but requires them to be "wholesale-only" instead of direct-to-customer. It's a limitation, sure, but I have a hard time considerin

For the curious, this is fresh from VDD24[1]. The 94x is mildly contested since IIRC how you write the C code really matters (e.g. scalar vs autovectorized). But even with vectorized C code the speed up was something like >10x, which is

I understand that at a high level, but the implementation is where I get lost and where I'd love an article like this to tell me how to do it and how to deploy securely vs develop locally. Most of the guides I've seen involving

The one thing I feel like is missing in guides like this is key management. I don't like the idea of putting secret keys in my compose.yaml and I would prefer to use something more... controllable? Auditable? The thing is, I don't

If we're nitpicking then sqlite3.h already has `#ifdef __cplusplus` and `extern "C" {`. So yes, from the user's perspective it is seamless. They do not need to play the `extern "C" {` game.

The framing is kinda confusing in some questions. For example, "In € 2,000 one-off gifts? Answer: 1.3x € 2,000 gifts for each person." But clearly that can't be per person globally. I had to read the code to see it was specif

So the way to make driving safer is to make roads more dangerous so people feel afraid of going too fast? Edit since there are multiple similar replies: I took parent comment to include freeways.

Codec (FFV1) has nothing to do with timestamps or metadata, which live at the container level. Also, FFV1 and H.264 have different target markets. FFV1 focuses on lossless, whereas H.264 specializes in lossy compression. If you don’t need l
