I am really hoping they film it with similar production values to The Man in the High Castle. I think the pacing, and the mix of reality and fantasy, in that would suit LOTR really well.

As much as I like Scala I find that hard to believe. I actually look for Scala in the job listings and I never felt it came up that much, compared to say Python or Javascript. A dumb search on the page for scala mostly turns up scalable ..

Thanks. I've done scala for a few years and only dabbled in rust but it certainly seemed plausible that various decisions in rust, about what to do and not to do, had been informed by scala. Glad to have it confirmed.

On the other hand one could say, since java is slowly incorporating all of scala, why not just use scala now. No waiting for jankier implementations of the same concepts.
