Simply because there are far more people who are likely to forget the rules of science and think "wow, 174 years, it keeps going forever!" than people who think "wow, 174 years, must be magic"

It's possible you're thinking of a previous event I've forgotten, but presuming you're referring to South Africa four years ago, France actually lost 2 and drew 1 - sorry for pedantry :)

I downvoted you not for the opinion (which I do happen to disagree with) but because you're making the mistake of taking your own anecdote and assuming it implies everyone is like you. Among me and my friends, nobody likes rap music, i

The thing is that this report is that it is being discussed, that doesn't mean it will complete, and if it doesn't then this would lower Variety's "accuracy" %, even if they were entirely accurate about the discussi

I wonder how hard it would be to make a blind test of comment quality by year, like a hot or not of comments... Other than setting it up, my questions would be a.) How to filter out comments that give away when they were posted ("wow,

To be honest, who cares. Even if your motivation was karma, if it's a good post we can upvote, if not we won't. Until prizes start getting awarded for karma I'd hope most people don't care about other users getting karma

My gut feeling is that I agree with you that quality of stories has gone back up but that comments have been getting worse continually with no bucking of the trend. Of course that might just be viewing history with rose-tinted glasses, and

Where's the line between "the media" and "people personally involved"? For example, if a 14 year old comes up to me on the street and commits a crime (e.g. he mugs me) and I know his name, would I not be allowed to

Presumably a chunk of that 80% gets written off by the drivers in expenses, so not all of it will be taxable. Whether it's 10% or 90% that's nontaxable I've no idea.

Citation needed for sure, but being a big % of expenses doesn't mean anything either way - salaries could be 100% of your expenses, and tax rates could be 90%, but if the company has revenue of 100x and expenditure of 10x then 90% of t

Why did you convert from time to frames to frames to time when you could just have kept it in time? Also, your maths is off: 77,000 videos * 10 seconds = 770,000 seconds 770,000 seconds / 60 / 60 = 213.89 hours
