35-ish years ago there was a pitch for cheap, high velocity, spin-stabilized rockets that were deployed in dense pods on the A-10. The rocket's seeker could divert some small amount of thrust at an angle for guidance, but otherwise th

There are other mitigations though: You can pass expected owner accountId on S3 operations and you can create SCPs that restrict the ability of roles to write to buckets outside the account. Unless you have an account that does many cross

Having worked in this space for years, it's not nearly as bad as you think. IaC tools can all look up the accountId/region for the current execution context and you can use SSM Parameters to give you a helpful alias in your code.

There's an explicit tension: SWEs would love that as a "get out of jail free" card, but their management chain is being evaluated by ajassy on AI/ML adoption. Admitting AI code as the root cause of a CoE is gonna look

If you want to try both "Team Red" and "Team Green" stuff without having 2 hosts to manage, the x4 interface is a reasonable tradeoff.

Probably something like NVLink Fusion. AWS has been doing deals with suppliers for which the smallest unit of deployable compute is a 44U rack (e.g. Oracle), so this is more of the same. https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/da

My take is it's the inference efficiency. It's one thing to have a huge GPU cluster for training, but come inference time you don't need nearly so much. Having the TPU (and models purpose built for TPU) allows for best cost

There are huge advantages to co-location within the same time zone (plus or minus 2 hours). India is practically half a day away from the US, meaning you only get overlap for an hour or two at the end of their working day.
