There are different versions of HL7. Currently the common one is some line and character delimited format, HL7 v2. {OBX,ORC,etc.} |data|||more data|number|||identifier| Which is basically a member of the multimap with the first word as the

Given that these numbers are individually sourced from customers, customers own their own data, and all interchange is P2P--there's not a good way to really count. Customers own their range of member-numbers as well. Plus, the whole th

Epic actually had a FHIR mini-conference of sorts with a couple organizations this week. Prototypes have already been available to test with for a few months for customers to make their own apps with.

Math works when all of the lemmas are satisfied. In this case, for he sake of efficiency or otherwise, a lot of people made a bad decision and only fulfilled a partial set of the requirements. When software uses a known set of hard coded pr

If a device comes with a useable app store, I'd rather it not come with tons of bloatware for every service ever out of the box. At this point it just seems Amazon is touting their weight.

The videos show color displays. The dev kit says 200x200 monochrome. Using WebGL sounds like a cool way to get people introduced to it, but showing color and it actually being monochrome is.. disingenuous.

And given an event like this sucking more resources out of the IRS, I guess I and others marked to be audited (they didn't believe I existed at first?) won't get our returns any time soon.

But what does that mean to the company and its employees? I bring this up because of the stock market crash having such ridiculous effects from the great depression era. Though I may just be uneducated on what really happened.

What happens if a stock in a tech company goes down to low value? Do they owe money back to the brokers that made the IPO?

It is shameful that it was done, but at the root, it seems to come down to: what is the product, and who are the users being swapped to who is the product, and what are the users. Free services seem easier to hit critical mass with a low ba

That's a cool video, but I've seen enough CG-salesy examples from vaporware projects--with similar animation and admittedly high-quality concept videos--to feel skeptical. Given how well similar tires seem to work for the military

Disable, uninstall, or click-to-enable. I'm in favor of everything moving to click-to-enable (which flashblock does for me, and is nice). Of course, companies like Adobe and Oracle probably don't want that as it means less people

Sounds like the DoD asking for bids for a support for a product, which can only be legally fulfilled by the authors of the product--instead of considering replacing the product where more than one can actually bid for it.
