That's what I came here to say. Anymore, I won't even bother to try to read an article when the site shows such contempt for its readers.

There hasn't been another review cycle, but my expectation is that it will be proposed for merging again this time around. Should be interesting to watch...

And the title (which I wrote) said nothing about OpenMandriva — which, as far as I can tell, isn't moving along at any great pace anyway.

I appreciate your concern, but we don't mind if an occasional subscriber link is posted this way. It gets us a lot of readers we might not otherwise reach and, with luck, leads to more subscribers going forward.

So I hate to whine, but how is it that somebody writing about color puts out gray-on-white text that's so hard to read? I'd expect them to know better...?

There's a new site design in the works; subscribers can play with it now. It improves the situation in a lot of ways, especially on small screens. But the text-centric nature of the site is not going to change.

Indeed, I hope you feel overwhelmed by the sort of guilt that only purchasing a subscription can dispel. Inspiring such feelings was my motivation for posting the link in the first place :) (I'm the lead editor of LWN.net).

"Please enable JavaScript to view this site." No, I will not. It's really not that hard to make a site readable without JavaScript; if they can't be bothered, I can't be bothered to read their stuff.

Weird. HTML message viewing in claws-mail refuses outright to load external images without an explicit request from the user. I have no idea why anybody would want or implement behavior different than that...?

Good stuff, so far as it goes. I do feel the need to point out, though, that if you want a rather more extensive set of posts about the kernel, you can find it nicely indexed at https://lwn.net/Kernel/Index/

I have no love for the payments industry, but this article overstates things a bit. I dropped out when it started ranting about charging credit-card-level fees for debit cards. There is a reason why those cards are run as credit from an o
