Boss pedals are functional masterpieces, but that doesn't make them aesthetically beautiful. They're ugly as sin. Just like work boots.

Getting buy-in from your own parents is a giant hurdle, because they need to dedicate a huge portion of their personal time to schooling you. That's not an easy undertaking. I have not seen any efforts in developing materials that chil

No, that's just a small niche. Shaming barefoot people is now a national pastime. Especially in airplanes and offices.

> Guitar pedals are aesthetically gorgeous. The writer lost me here. Sure, some have beautiful artwork. But pedals themselves are perhaps the ugliest contraptions I have laid my eyes on. Just look at the form of BOSS pedals. As always, t

I can guarantee you wouldn't be making that comment if the post title was "Why don't more people code in machine language"? But because it's a diy project, it somehow makes it laudable, even though it's a terri

I loved reading Shakespeare in school too, even as an ESL student. Reading Early Modern English was really fun, and perhaps what made me love the language.

That's obvious, as most walls in US are just drywall. You can kick your way into a house without touching any doors or breaking any glass. Houses in the US aren't made to prevent break ins. If you want to prevent a break in, firs

TRT has its disadvantages, such as (1) you have to take it for the rest of your life, and (2) a higher risk of certain cancers. It sounds a bit scary, to be honest.

My high school started at 8:30 twenty years ago, and it was hell waking up to be there on time. Cut a period and let kids go in at 10am. 9:30am at the earliest. This, of course, will never happen. Even if it did happen, school at 10 implies

I just checked and you are right, my M1 Air has a glass trackpad too. However, the trackpad on the 14" MBP is much smoother and more responsive; I thought it the difference was glass vs non-glass. It must be something else.
