In general adding heat to the earth doesn’t really matter, because it’s constantly radiating to space. The sun shines adding a ton of heat all the time, and the same amount radiates out. Running some more power plants isn’t going to compet

It’s not a one way trip if you want to leave. They’ve said in previous presentations they plan to bring the ships back for multiple flights, and so there’s an option to return if you want it.

In the presentation he says one of the main problems is that launches are loud, and so would probably need to be 30mi from anything. The plan is lots of sea based launch & landing platforms.

It’s also been solved (or isn’t a problem) with car share apps like Car2Go or Zipcar. Those cars don’t get cleaned between rides, but system asks how clean the car is when you start a trip.

I wouldn’t support a flat fee either since it wouldn’t incentivize less use of power or better energy sources. With that type of proposal you pay more, even if you’re trying to do good. Here’s an example alternative proposal: a $10/gal

If you give a satellite a shove, it will end up on a slightly higher or lower (or eccentric) orbit depending which way you shove. It won’t keep floating off endlessly into space unless you shove it with enough energy to get to escape veloc

I think if you could get it down to the price of a car it would make sense for a lot of households. Families are really busy, and meal prep/cleanup takes a lot of time.

Five years ago I tried to rent a house I liked and didn’t get it. A couple months ago I saw it was for sale with two days left to the sale date. I bought it and am sitting in it now. It feels very strange, like I got on a train I missed.
