- munk-a 5y agoSpecifically - the CanCon rules don't actually restrict the broadcast of any specific speech just requiring a different mixture than what you might desire (i.e. Rush). Additionally it's important to note that the CCRF is not the US Bill of Rights and both has some inherent textual differences along with significantly different interpretation over the years. Free speech in Canada is both more and less free than in the US in some pretty interesting ways.
- refurb 5y agoSure it restricts specific speech - speech deemed to not meet Canadian content requirements. And I’d love to hear an example of how free speech in Canada is “more free” than in the US.
