No problem Grace, thanks for the update. I don't want to come off as negative, I love what Watsi is doing and wish you best.

Chase, thanks for the reply. It makes perfect sense that your providers would perform the treatment before getting your funds, as you operate as an (almost) insurance provider. I was worried they were waiting for funds to proceed, but it's

I'm a huge fan of Watsi, but looking over their transparency document has me worried. The funds for 47% of funded treatments haven't made it to their medical partners. On average, the unsent funds have been waiting for 43 days, with the lon

Any chance you can post the code you used to benchmark? That's an insane difference.

If you have boto installed, this is all you'll need to do import boto.ec2 conn = boto.ec2.connect_to_region("us-east-1") conn.request_spot_instances('0.005', 'ami-2400984d', instance_type='t1.mi

The "gang member pointing a gun" is actually the main character in Ubisoft's upcoming game Watch Dogs[1]. My guess is that this page / slide was shown in the context of mobile gaming. [1]: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watch_Dogs

Just found the API that reddit uses to check for usernames[1]. I'll be adding it to handlehelp right now. [1]: http://www.reddit.com/api/username_available.json?user=foo

You should add more services! I wrote http://handlehelp.com which checks for username availability across multiple sites. It's open source[1], so you can use some of my checks if you'd like. [1]: https://github.com/kyleconroy/handlehelp

A sustainable replacement already exists: statically generated website on S3. You own the domain, and there is very little chance that S3 is going away anytime soon. It will also be cheaper than $5/month.

The majority of the items on the website are password reminder emails. This is after the initial sign up, which means the do indeed store it in plain text.

As a developer of a downloadable desktop game [1], this change really hurts me. I distribute binaries for OS X and Windows via Downloads. The entire build and upload process is automated, and has been working great for the last six months.

This is my latest weekend project[1] and first web application written in Go. Go's concurrency model made it very easy to query multiple sites at once and stream the data back to the client. Specifically, I'm creating a Gorountine for each

Author of Stashboard here, love what you guys have done. I'd love to integrate your frontpage design as an optional template. When I wrote Stashboard, monitoring was explicitly not a requirement. Since it has an API, the idea what to write

It's ridiculous that iOS doesn't offer an API for scheduled background tasks. The clever tricks developers use to solve this problem (geofencing, silent audio[1], etc.) shouldn't be necessary. [1]: http://www.148apps.com/news/silence-golde
