As a developer of a downloadable desktop game [1], this change really hurts me. I distribute binaries for OS X and Windows via Downloads. The entire build and upload process is automated, and has been working great for the last six months. Switching over to S3 is going to cost me quite a bit, and it going to be difficult to justify for a open-source video game that will never make any revenue.
