Penalties don't work for government agencies. Taxpayers would pay for it and it doesn't act as an incentive. The way to fix it is to empower one government agency to do aggressive pentesting against every other agency, hospitals,

Cool, you can fix the wealth inequality. But you also need to fix the excessive consumption of beef, fuel, and every other CO2-emitting good, whether consumed by you or by the "top 0.001%". You can't use "wealth inequali

Blaming "profiteering and ever-increasing growth" is way too easy. Can any legislature get away with dramatically increasing taxes on meat, fish, gas, and plane tickets, just at a level high enough to account for environmental ext

There are many different groups of anti-AI people with different beliefs. This attempt to "reframe and reclaim" (here, paraphrased: "significant existential risks from AI is actually marketing hype by pro-AI fanatics") i

I wouldn't describe it as "conservative" but as "pro-native-apps and anti-web-apps", which seems irrational in this day and age where "native apps" means platform lock-in by monopolies, less sandboxing and

Seems to me like the top goal should be: you can easily replace the most-likely-to-break parts (screen, back, battery, etc) in any local independent repair shop, with genuine parts that have low markups. I'm confused why that still isn

Those are all weird WebKit issues, and reddit not testing MobileSafari. It works perfectly on Chrome, if it was intentional they would have broken it on Chrome too. As always you can count on Apple/Safari team to not give a shit, not t

This is worldwide, not just for US users. And most towns seem missing, including in areas Israel has never bombed. It keeps blowing me away how brain dead the internet can be.

I remember switching to English, decades ago, after running into misaligned/cut-off localized text in the UI. I'm still using English to this day. And from what I've seen, Apple's always supported fewer languages and inp

These are considered security UI bugs. They are a subcategory of security bugs, since they result in users lacking control or awareness over permissions. If this were a Chromium bug it would get a CVE.

I have nothing to do with any of this. But since they don't consider these as vulnerabilities in the first place, then yeah, sure.

Apple Security would instantly close it as "don't see the problem here" if you reported it to them. They have a poor reputation around TCC bug reports.

It's a sinister statement, but despite everything the U.S. has moved to the region, they didn't move the stuff they would need to move for ground operations.

This comment is so wrong. Trump's strikes won't "prevent" anything, it's domestic posturing to look tough. You cannot bomb your way into regime change. > After the last war, it also is no longer a threshold state

No it's not. This is an air strike campaign, no boots on the ground. It'll end in two weeks. There is no chance China or Russia get involved, like last time, so "WW3" is completely non-credible.

I can't imagine feeling entitled to shove AI outputs in everyone's face on a user forum. It's predatory. They know no one wants it but they want to make a quick buck.
