Nintendo and Microsoft/Xbox have low margin on each device sold [1] [2]. For Valve, Steam is the only real source of income. Apple on the other hand has a lot of source of incomes. They have a margin of 60 percent just for the iPhone!

The high prices may be explained (but not entirely) by 1) little market (36 millions) 2) wide area to cover. Only Quebec is like France x 5.

Even randomizing MAC seems somehow useless [0]. And all `private` VPNs without logs are pretty much non-free (as in money). So what's the easiest solution for a lambda user!? [0] https://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/

No need for a VPN. Maybe using HTTPS wouldn't aloud them to see the data? Hope no MITM. But, you can always change DNS server (or use DNSCrypt).
