I'm a believer in the William Golding (Lord of the Flies) view of humanity - that the baseline character of humans is quite different than what you see in modern humanity and that what makes us who we are comes from social controls and

If the person is in more than one opt in keyword then it goes to either all campaigns or it goes to the last communicated campaign. Not ideal of course. Best to have geographically isolated short codes to minimize this. But it's bette

Providers typically do a shared short code in this case. They share customers across multiple unique keywords per shortcode and their API lets you be on your own. Siignal7 or something like that is one of these. They also monitor your compl

Is this using a long code or a short code? The examples seem to show a long code, which is basically a phone number. The FCC is in the process of cracking down on companies that use long codes for marketing and interacting with customers. I

As an Apple investor I'm not sure what to think of this. On the one hand Apple has so much cash on hand that they can do just about anything that they want. On the other hand I can see developing a car being a huge time and money sink

I don't think any programmer needs to know more than what this information means practically to a programmer. I don't need the details - I have other things to worry about. SSD is great because when we compile we are opening poten

There are so many sad broken people in Silicon Valley. Maybe it's a matter of people not being socialized well as they grow up and a somewhat insular community that feeds off itself. I left about 10 years ago but still have strong ties

But that does happen, in way. The most well-known was Zynga - when they were getting ready to go public they did a claw-back on their outstanding options and shares. They screwed over a friend of mine that was one of the early employees. h

The Avocados that they can actually ship (Hass) are pretty terrible. If you haven't lived in an area where they grow avocados you probably haven't had a chance to enjoy the other dozens of varieties of avocado. Did you know that t

I think most people don't have the need to push their iPad particularly hard and so hardware as old as the iPad 2 is probably good enough. Myself, I upgraded from 'The New Ipad' (whatever number that one was) to the latest iP
