That is the only way to decentralize given reality of spam and incentives to manipulate results. "trusted network of peers" is the key here. In my opinion in order for it to work trust should be weighted. And weights should be upd

Why is everybody in this thread providing their RAM and SSD size like it's relevant but no info on whether they upgraded their CPU or not? Issues seem relatively common but I can't find info on whether it only happens to those wh

You could make similar argument against webgl. Sure, it's hard, but take a step back and midi is just a more sophisticated keyboard/mouse (re input, the output is just a few pixels). Most musicians are ok with as much as 10ms late

Any comment on the implementation Google did for hangouts/google talk? It seemed like that should have been enough of a push.

CSAC (chip scale atomic clock) seems to be well below $2k, I think they could swallow that. Army would probably be interested in such case. Also, TIL that GPS satellites are not geostationary.

This one liner is a winner. I have more primitive approach with a single file. I've been doing it for about 20 years. Services come and go and you can deal with that. But what's crucial to me, is that it is fast. Always. No loggin

All other comments seem to be fixing the list, but the problem is not the list, the problem is that it makes you anxious. Few sentences from a stranger won't change you but you're clearly using introspection so you'll be fine

The world is complex. And that's why division between screen time and real world at this age makes sense. You let many more brain areas develop when you can touch stuff, move it around with many more degrees of freedom, you have way mo

If you've always been a fan then maybe you have some more recommended reading for me? Title of the paper seems to be a bit over the top, it just seems to counter some straw man arguments against Superdeterminism.

It sounds like you are super critical about any potential security issues (because what else could it be, other than that it just works or it doesn't). If given machine security is super important (oh it's running a web server..),
