Borrrr-ing. Also, this will get you NOWHERE: "You can abuse artists on touring contracts as badly as you do on recording. You graduated from Harvard, they dropped out junior year of high school in Detroit. You can do this." What an asshole!

Much of the responsibility is on the marketing side. BUT "Interactive" advertising agencies like www.schematic.com are picking up this business...and charging out the wazoo to develop very straightforward applications. The new bottlenecks

I agree. It's a shame they're not doing something truly valuable, like getting inside-out with all that user information. It's especially easy to get dark on them because of the attitude: "We're marginally more forward-thinking than MySpac

The key paragraphs are the last 4. Like Umair, I believe the huge value is not in "monetization through advertising", but making marketing itself useful to consumers. AdSense/AdWords is only the tip of the iceberg: "But instead of seeing

I agree in total with this take... The Net isn't going to stop growing in traffic or utility, that's for sure. My fear is that the glut of mediocrity will put a chilling effect on this "sector" from an investment standpoint. Based on my rec
