It's not like the "Michigan Left" (I hate that name, "Metro Detroit Left" would be much more accurate) does away with making a left turn at a light. Instead, you make a right turn at light at the intersection, and then a left turn at the e

Umm... how are you getting sushi quality fish in Richmond, Indiana in 1900? What's your source of nori and wasabi?

All I can say is, your life must be a hell of a lot different than mine. My job (writing programs used by people around the world, all from my home office in small city Michigan) could not have existed in 1973. Indeed, my house probably has

Sure, it all depends on context. If I'm talking with someone and he's obviously knows what he's doing, then I'd certainly make allowances. At the same time, you'd certainly hope that an interviewer had the basic English-language terms down

Huh. I'm thinking I might very well not want to be hired by someone who doesn't know the difference between a digit and a number. What an odd thing...

I just checked the book Perl 6 Essentials (2003, sigh) and it has given / when already, looking very close to the current standard.

Wait, didn't everyone like XP more than Vista? I know I used Windows from version 3.1 right up until my experiences with Vista convinced me that spending an extra $1000 to get a MacBook Pro instead of a Vista laptop was completely worth it

Or ever-so-slightly lighter Perl 6 version: my $x = 'Apple Carrot Banana'; my @y = $x.words.sort; if @y > 2 { say "we've got {@y.elems} elements!"; } else { say "insufficient elements. fail."; }

Cool, but it seems like they missed a bit of a chance by not printing a simple system keyless flute. Less impressive looking, I suppose, but as long as they were careful with their CAD model design, it probably would have worked perfectly

I've heard that some domestic turkeys cannot fly. For sure the wild turkeys I've seen can. An entire flock getting spooked, taking off, and perching in a big tree is quite an impressive sight and sound...

I wrote a SID music sequencing program in Forth on my C64, it was a tremendously fun programming environment. (I think there may have been a bit of assembler involved as well, as it was very easy to call from Forth.)
