The self-righteous attitude of the article is very much offputting. I'd love to have something to wave around at my boss and co-workers to convince them of the usefulness of the FP paradigm (to at least encourage FP-like practices in o

I for one would be fine with a TPM that is on its own silicon and carrier rather than on the processor die or otherwise inside the CPU package. Then I could disable it when I don't want it working, without possibly killing my processor

You could do it before. Each version of the 4.0 and 4.1 SDKs came with gcc, but a very very old version (the 4.x series, I believe, ironically enough). What's here is a more recent gcc, as well as VBCC out of box.

The problem with WPF is that it's tied to Windows itself, which isn't of any use in today's cross-platform, .NET 5+ world. (Before you shout, yes I do know about Avalonia. It's nice. But too late.)

Offsets are important in a programming language where you are regularly dealing with memory addresses, not nearly so much in one where memory access is almost completely abstracted away.

They certainly reacted to the pricing difference to the 6800-pin-compatible 6501, both by dropping the 6800's price and suing MOS. The 6502 is essentially a 6501 modulo reorganization of the pins.
