Boston is a town with a ton of students and many of them live in Allston. Leases are almost all 1 yr starting Sept 1st. It’s called “Allston Christmas” because of all the goodies left on the curb.

Such amazing animals. Everytime I see one I am so thrilled. Saw a snowy owl this winter and they are so gorgeous. Also really weird how easy it is to anthropomorphize an owl. They generally look very surprised or very angry. Love it.

Felt like a summary - not sure I even considered AI even if it didn’t read like a critical review. I do really want to read the book. Jack Welch is a case study in hubris. And I worked for a startup that had a relationship with Immelt. We k

I expected the first comment to be about privacy. I don’t keep a lot of notes but I definitely consider them even more private than even email. Not sure I want them training LLMs. Or are there actually assurances from MS around privacy for

Little weird to see this on the lead page… mermaid has been around for a long time. And in general I’ve found its real world use pretty lacking.

Not funny. My family is bilingual english/spanish and my wife is a green card holder but not a citizen. Doesn’t seem far fetched. But if we go down… it won’t be without a fight.

My high school chemistry teacher claimed that tea and coffee each have different isomers of caffeine and people may be sensitive to one both or none. This was pre internet and some quick googling seems to debunk this claim in that caffeine

I ski a lot and wear headphones for music and to take any emergency calls. I use siri to ask “What time is it?” 50:50 whether or not it works. This has been my experience for as long as siri has existed and I have kept up to date on hw and

Watching a typical multi family house go up down the street in Boston and the wooden framing is definitely still all nailed together. This is very typical in the US Northeast. No need for connectors when you have nails and nail guns. Where

To me the really gross bit is the dishonesty around the slop. Same track with multiple different names appearing under multiple different artist names is egregious. Classic corporate disregard for customers.

I have the Cannon 10x30 IS from a long time ago and they are the best binoculars I’d ever tried. I’m pretty shaky so the image stabilizing is game changing. I’m sure the more powerful pairs are incredible and in that case image stabilizatio

This blew my mind a few years ago when I got some decent binoculars. Depending on their positions you can see all four of the Galilean moons - even from a vantage point in a major city.

Late to reply back but I’m not sure why that matters when all you are looking for is roots to have enough stimulation to uptake water.

What are the common use cases for this? I’m lacking the imagination to extend the demos to something practical.

I’m sure they have considered this and/or doing it already but you’d only need a small centrifuge to simulate gravity for an experiment.

Not sure if they still have the wooden cars on the A (blue) Subte line in Buenos Aires. I lived in Caballito for a little while in 2007 and got a huge kick out of opening the doors early, hopping off the train and sliding on the platform wi

Helped for me to compare to the moon. The water sphere has less than half the radius of the moon (~1080 miles). Think that’s roughly 7-8% of the moon’s volume if it were a perfect sphere.

Apple pay when available is about as low friction as you can get. I know it isnt available to everyone but there should be some similar standard that is. Near seamless.
